About Us

About the Need

The global aid landscape is in flux; donor priorities are shifting, large institutions are undergoing significant changes in priorities, and a reduction in operations and budget. As a result, we in the international development and humanitarian aid sector have seen a decrease in accessible funding opportunities, loss of established networks, and increasing barriers for local organizations. At the same time, there are rising complex crises, persistent inequality, and growing threats that need to be addressed.

Local institutions, such as NGOs, CBOs, ethnic rights organizations, social enterprises, community groups, and others, are uniquely positioned to respond to these needs. By leveraging deep contextual knowledge, community trust, early detection, and ability to adapt rapidly to changing contexts, Local institutions are positioned to deliver impactful interventions that are grounded in local realities. These interventions are then more sustainable and efficient for the communities they serve.

It was with this in mind that Helping Hands Consortium (HHC) was founded with a commitment to act where traditional systems fail and support local institutions to deliver inclusive, relevant, and sustainable solutions.

Our Mission

Helping Hands Consortium exists to build organizational resilience and systems, empower people, and improve the impact of activities carried out by local institutions in responding to complex crises, persistent inequality, and emerging threats. We partner with local institutions to deliver inclusive, adaptable, and sustainable solutions grounded in trust, equity, ethical practices, and local knowledge.

What We Do

We provide hands-on support to local institutions to strengthen their capacity to design, deliver, and implement impactful activities. Our services include tailored assistance in proposal development, resource mobilization, and strategy engagement to help partners secure and manage funding effectively. We offer expertise in monitoring and evaluation to ensure results-driven programming, and we support the setting up of operational systems that enhance efficiency, accountability, and compliance. We also support local institutions in delivering reporting and communication materials for donors and stakeholders. By equipping local institutions with the tools and systems they need, we help them lead sustainable, community-driven responses in an increasingly complex aid environment
